About Our Faculty The College of Engineering has a total of 56 full-time faculty members in six areas: Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Department tenure track faculty publish in prestigious academic journals, however, the departments also take pride in and place emphasis on their teaching effectiveness. Our faculty are actively involved in both teaching and research. Many of our faculty are principal or co-investigators on research grants with the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and other nationally recognized entities. They also consult and are involved in research projects with many private industries.
